‘All Good Things Take Time Friend’ is a short docu-series created by Matthew Bettinaglio.

The first season features three episodes all based on Yanchep locals - a master ceramicist (Warrick Palmateer), a hobby bladesmith (Hamish Readhead) and a Father processing the grief of his son (Andrew Hamilton).

The three episodes touch on dedication, curiosity & hope, all tied together with the theme of taking time.

Warrick Palmateer (ceramicist) and myself have been working on films together since 2018. I couldn't think of a better person to feature in this first pilot episode of 'All Good Things Take Time Friend'. While working on 'Present In The Current' an art show hosted at Wanneroo Regional Gallery from October 2025 through 'til January 2026, we decided to make this accompanying film to further explain Warrick's spherical forms and a little about the story behind his work and philosophy as well as our collaboration as artists based in Yanchep.

002

Hamish Readhead (bladesmith) is a hobby knife-maker, he won awards in 2020 at the ‘Perth Knife Show’ and took a hiatus when life got in the way. This episode documents him making a new Japanese inspired Damascus blade knife for the first time in five years. Over 100+ hours was poured into making this knife and we documented as much as we could over an eight month period in his shed in Yanchep. The final output was worth every sweat drop, broken press and minute.

Andrew Hamilton is a man of deep faith with a love of our local stretch of coastline, he lost his son in a free-diving accident in 2024. This episode delves into what happened to Sam, the fallout for Andrew and the ways in which he dealt with such immense grief. Andrew found hope and healing through those around him, time in the ocean, riding his bike in the bush and most importantly leaning heavily on the faith he spent his life building.
